Since 2015, Consilium Safety has suppoerted the international charity Mercy Ships, an organization which operates hospital ships all over the world. We have, for example, let some of our employees work on board as volunteers and contributed with safety technology.
In March 2022, it was time for Mercy Ships to inaugurate their vessel Global Mercy in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Consilium Safety has co-sponsored the fire alarm system and was invited to join for a unique tour of the ship. In attendance were Philip Isell Lind af Hageby (CEO), Malin Cardemar (CMCO), Marcus Andersson (CCO), Stefano Pacciani (MD Italy), Michael Noorlander (MD the Netherlands) and Philip Liebe (MD Germany).
Global Mercy more than doubles Mercy Ships’ surgical capacity and patient beds. Her first destination for service is Dakar, Senegal. Mercy Ships estimates that more than 150,000 patients will receive free surgery over Global Mercy’s expected lifespan of 50 years.
