Regarding CS5000 // CCP
An article published on May 29, 2025, by the U.S. Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) highlights two security vulnerabilities identified in the CS 5000 system (corresponding to CCP) during a test conducted onboard a vessel. These vulnerabilities are related to network communication and could theoretically allow limited unauthorized access to the system.
It is important to emphasize that this mainly could be relevant if someone is physically onboard and gains access to the restricted areas where the alarm panel is located as the system should have no direct connection to internet. If the system has an approved direct connection to the internet, a Secure Gateway is installed to prevent this type of vulnerability.
The system in question, like many systems of its generation, was developed in line with the regulations and practices applicable before 1 July 2024. Current Consilium systems are fully aligned with the latest cybersecurity requirements introduced under the updated regulatory framework.
While the probability of onboard interference with a fire detection system remains extremely low, Consilium Safety Group will carry out a cybersecurity assessment and upgrade the systems in question.
